Frag Plugs

Got some Ceramic Tiles donated to me so I thought I would put them to good use as Frag Plugs so I said I would give them the go and chopped them into little frag TilePlugs.

They are mixed and matched tiles, it was no a issue, I was going for that look anyway.

Did not have one of the fancy Tile cutters but had the next best thing, a angle grinder.

Gave it a Test run on a Small Tile to get a feel. Works like a Charm!

Swapped the Blade for Diamond Blade and Got Stuck in and chopped up a couple of tiles, ended up with loads of TilePlugs. They should last a good while.

Gave them a little rinse to get all the dust off them.

And a quick test to see how they would perform.

The rest of the TilePlugs are now sitting in the return chamber of the sump ready to be used as needed.

What Glue?

Loads of people and Visitors to “The Reef Shed” ask me how do you stick the Coral Frags to the Tiles and Frag Plugs.

Simple,  SuperGlue. I get a pack of 8 Small Tubes for €2.

The Tubes above are Normal Superglue but I also buy the Superglue Gel tubes when they have them.

Superglue Gel is easier to work with when Glueing frags. I have investigated in buying the large bottles of Superglue Gel but right now it just is not work it, maybe when things start getting busier it will be worth while.

So Far it is just the Cheap Superglue.

A good tip is to Keep the Superglue in the Fridge or Freezer, it prevents it from Hardening.
