What a Wonderful Wor…mmmmm

During my daily routine inspection of the Frag tanks I noticed something strange wrapped around one of the Bigger Zoanthids on the Rock. It looked like caterpillar eating a leaf. I quickly ran into the house to get the camera but by the time I got back he had gone back into the rock.

It reminded me of this http://oregonreef.com/sub_worm.htm

So with this in mind I dug out the Trusty Snips and started breaking rock up into small parts.

This is what I found:

The worm was about 20-25cm long. From doing some research I believe it is a Eunicid Worm.

You can find some good worm info here.

On the same rock under the Zoanthids I found a Baby Gorilla Crab, I could not get a clear pic of the guy as he was so small, here is a pic from someone else that shows it better.

Coral Containers

Because of the way I am I try to keep everything as neat as Possible, not really happening in TheReefShed, but hey I can try.

A while back I got my hands on a couple of these containers from a Friend that are used for warming hospital food before they are dished out for patients, it sounds bad but you get my drift!

I have this theory that if I put all my Frags in these containers on the Coral Sand, that after they spread and cover the Coral Sand in the Container  I would just peel them out of the container and be able to Frag them as a “mat” and just cut squares of sizes that i require. Then of-course stick them to a rock and get them ready to sell.

Each container will then be filled with Coral Sand.

Then I found this really cool plastic mesh that you get on bath Sponges, they cost like 50c for a 3 pack. I will use this and a elastic band to hold down Sarchophyton Frags for example.

I will keep everyone posted on my “Mat Peel Theory”.
